Department of History
Faculty of History Came into existence in the year 2001 with the undergraduate programme in the college under affiliation with HNB Garhwal University. In 2014, the department upgraded to P.G. status.
There are 160 seats in undergraduate programme and 30 seats in P.G. programme. 03 regular faculties are working in the department. 02 faculty has specialization in Ancient History and 01 faculties has specialization in modern History of India.

History Council :
The History Council activities encourage students to engage with history through debates and discussions, interactions with eminent scholars and regular seminars. They are encouraged to ‘do history’ through research papers of their own. Visits to archives and museums, outstation trips and regular student led heritage walks, around the country and even abroad, provide a forum to take history outside the classroom and engage with the public at large.
The History Society is run mostly by students under the guidance of the faculty. The Student Council comprises 5 elected representatives. All events are organized and coordinated by them.
